Operations Manager
We are hiring a Part-Time Operations Manager to support efforts to grow our community!
Saint Louis Ultimate Association (SLUA) is a nonprofit organization that supports the sport of ultimate frisbee, its players, and the spirit of the game. We accomplish this by offering leagues, tournaments, events, participant scholarships, and development opportunities.
With guidance from the board of directors, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the management of general business activities as well as assisting with communication, coordination and organization of volunteers and players. This position is integral in SLUA’s growth strategy and increasing community outreach.
The ideal candidate will be an organized, self-starter who can multi-task and has a friendly, positive, outgoing demeanor.
SLUA has a wide variety of participation from the community. The person hired will work with a mix of contracted staff and volunteers to fulfill all the requirements. Below are primary tasks and responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Community relationship building and program advocacy
Participation in strategic planning to grow the community
Education, ideas and partnerships through outreach to similar organizations
Marketing and networking in and outside of the Ultimate community
Working directly with league coordinators, captains, coaches and players
Providing logistical support for programs
Supporting and performing tasks as requested by the board
Task examples:
Player and league coordination and communications
Manage or escalate community questions, concerns or issues.
Support and coordinate community events, fundraisers
Schedule and coordinate meetings
Organize and manage volunteers
Manage business tasks such as insurance requirements.
Reporting for USA Ultimate (USAU) affiliation requirements.
Respond to or escalate questions and concerns brought forward
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication
Excellent organization and time management skills
Great interpersonal skills and a friendly, service-oriented personality
Self motivated and able to work independently.
Team player with problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Proficiency in Google Docs/Sheets, Microsoft Word/Excel & other software applications
Experience:
Previous office management experience is preferred. Strong candidates will have a proven track record of task, project and general business management. Ultimate frisbee experience is preferred but not necessary.
Work Location:
This is a work from home position. With some travel to local fields and a potential for travel to off site meetings.
Job Type:
Part time approximately 20 hours per week contract employment with somewhat flexible hours. Opportunity to increase hours as the organization builds momentum.
Pay:
Expected Range $18 to $25 per hour. Commiserate with the candidate's qualifications, skills and experience. Potential bonus opportunity based on the performance and growth of organization and/or individual program success.
